Ok, ok, so I know I am probably the worst blog writer in the world. The truth is that I have been busy so busy performing then having a baby that I have neglected my online obligations to inform everyone about the latest happenings in our life. Good thing I have an awesome sister who takes care of most of it for me, or we would pretty much be dead to the world. (Thanks Brooke!)
Anyway, I took second place in Star of the West, so thank you to everyone who voted and cheered for me all along. I won some prize money that I am going to use to make a demo, so even though I didn’t win the contract, I still got a little jump start with my music.
That contest was on Wednesday the 29th of August. Two days later I was one of the opening acts for Jason Hewlett, an absolutely hilarious entertainer! If he ever comes to your work party, you are in for a treat! Sunday, I was doing the splits and despite the contractions they brought on, I continued doing leg extensions. My mom has the pictures, I will have to have her email them to me.
Monday (Labor Day) my family wanted to go swimming, but I just felt I really needed to finish up the nursery for the baby. Good thing too, because I was swamped at work on Tuesday, but had enough time in the evening to get my studio set up at my parent’s house. Wednesday morning my water broke and the rest is history.
Adelaide Aimee Geddes came at 7:17 pm, weighin 6 lbs 1 oz, and 18 1/2 inches long. She is so stinkin cute I can’t believe it. Even when she screams for 2 hours a night, I still just love her to pieces! We are so lucky she came when she did and that she was healthy. I wasn’t too sad to not have to carry her an extra 11 days. I wonder if doing the splits had anything to do with it?
Addie is now 3 weeks and 2 days old. At her 2 week check up she weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and had grown and inch and a half making her now 20 inches. I can’t believe how much she has changed already!
Well, my grandma is coming to have lunch with me today, so I guess I better get the house cleaned up so she doesn’t think that I am still totally out of commission. Everyone has been so helpful with the new baby, especially my sister Brooke, mom, Aaron, the rest of my family, neighbors, etc. Thank you all so much!
